The island of Paros, located on the south of Naxos, lies in the centre of the main sea routes of the Aegean and in a distance of 90 sea miles from the port of Piraeus. It is surely one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades, with mountainous settlements and fishing villages, perfectly preserving the exceptional Cycladic architecture and combining relaxation and recreation. No wonder why Paros is steadily preffered by visitors.

Paros is one of the most fertile islands of the Cyclades, renowned for its wine production. Other main agricultural produce are oil, cereal, fruit and vegetables. Apart from agriculture, the island’s economy is based on fishing and stock breeding. The richness of Paros underground deposits of fine marble and limestone have been famous since antiquity, used mainly for sculpture.

The port of the island, Parikia, is also the capital and is located on the western side of the island, approximately 14 km. from Santa Maria.

Naousa, a picturesque and vivid fishing village, is an attraction to every visitor, offering a diversity of activities and night life. The highly traditional and hospitable environment combined with the small, ambient bars, scenic fish taverns offering the freshest fish the local fishing boats can provide, as well as the ouzo bars make the visit unforgettable.
